Hey creative amigos!
I paint with acrylic paints, sometimes I add a bit of ink, and as you can imagine I use various tools to achieve my results. The tools I use depend on the type of effect I want to achieve.
I have been mostly using palette knifes of different sizes and shapes. Throughout my art career I have done many paintings solely with brushes, but I don’t know what it is, I absolutely adore working with palette knifes and the effects that you can create with them! I find that you need to use your creativity in a different way when working with these tools as they are more rigid than brushes, obviously. In my opinion, brushes tend to be easier to control. When layering with palette knifes you feel how the paint adheres and I personally become one with the painting I am creating (does this sound too cheesy? It's true, though!) My other top favourite tool is the Catalyst White Silicone Wedge #6. As you can tell by the title, this tool is made of silicone which makes it easier to maneuver creating a different effect than palettes knifes. If you haven’t tried this tool I encourage you to do so! Both tools may be found at your local art shop. Click here and here to see the results achieved with this tool.
Thanks for stopping by! See you in my social media or my next blog.
